AWE tuning leaving an impression

And its not a good one. I ordered an intake at the end of may got a conf. number of my order then nothing. It took them one week to email me that the intakes are on backorder for 4 to 6 weeks. Fine but I had to call and email twice just to find that out. Now coming up on 6 weeks and I haven't heard anything. Last friday got an email from them about special waterfest pricing. Emailed them asking if I could get same price when my intake ships... No response called yesterday no answer mailbox full...emailed yesteday again no response. Do they treat everyone like this? I thought these guys were awesome with customer service WTF. Anyone else having trouble? I guess $430 isn't a big enough order to warrant any type of customer service. Sorry for the rant but damn.

this is usual business when these show related sales are going on. i talked to a lady at apr when they had the sale on the carbonio intakes and she said she mustve had 15 calls before lunch about the backorder. give them a break or buy from someone else...awe arent the only people making intakes

Didn't order it when it was on sale. But you're right, I got an email from them yesterday and they are going honor the price and let me know monday what my order status is. Just want to go on record and say that I found out they have been shorthanded so my apologies. I've had my car for 3 years and have just finally been able to start modding. So I'm a little anxious.

I'm having the same problem with AWE. I want to order their boost gauge kit (thanks forums for spending my money ), but I want to phone in my order

I've tried calling them numerous times last week and today. No answer, sales mailbox full, left a msg on their tech line with no response, emailed Alex with no response.

I understand if they're busy/shortstaffed, but then they definitely shouldn't put out a sale that you can't order from.

Plus, it really worries me that there's no one there that wants to take my money, let alone be there if I need tech help ..... (and yes I know I shouldn't cause it's just a gauge but still)

For me: I'm in love with their kit and all, but if they don't have anyone to answer the phone then I'll just not order their product.

Why not just deal with one of their dealers instead? You'll get better pricing than direct through AWE, and better service since those guys are less likely to be bombarded with phone calls.

purems and matrix are two popular ones that come to mind.

a few reasons:
--BIG reason: when you call up AWE tech's line, they specifically say that orders direct from them have priority
--I had a couple tech questions to ask beforehand
--AWE direct is cheaper than anyone else I've seen given that they are selling the new electric gauge kit (not the mechanical one) and have it on sale for Waterfest-----also the cheaper vendors just seem to sell it at the same price (normal pricing), but with free shipping
--I'm on the east coast as well so I'd receive it the next day after shipment.......which is well worth the $6 shipping that AWE charges.

But, an update for everyone:

I was finally able to get in contact with someone from AWE earlier today to complete my order. They said they were extremely busy the last few weeks.

Also (coincidentally shortly after ordering) Alex emailed me and asked if I was able to order and if not to reply with a time he could call me to place my order.

As I told them, they have a great product with a great reputation on the forums.

Glad to hear your guage is on its way.At least they are still in business. As for my intake... Well that's still in limbo got an email friday saying they would update me on monday. Received the update on tuesday, same as before, they are still waiting for an update on intake status. I'm curious to see if they will have any for sale at waterfest. That would be a little messed up!

AWE new impression

I'm now on my way home from Waterfest 16. We just stopped for dinner and thought I'd update. Alex and the rest of the guys that I met from AWE tuning are awesome, took plenty of time with my questions. Alex rememberd me from our emails. And I have to say it was nice to be able to talk face to face with someone from there. I was so impressed I walked out of there with a vent boost guage kit and a new cat-back! They had a problem with their last batch of CCB intakes. I'd rather wait and get a superior product. So I'll install my new parts and wait for my CCB patiently. Great guys, great stuff, great time at waterfest. Don't hesitate to do business with AWE tuning.

What was the problem with their last batch of CCB intakes? I have one of the first run ones?

They didn't elaborate on the problem. From what I heard it sounded like like there was a quality control issue, but I'm not sure what it was. I just know they decided not to ship them.

At WF 14, I ordered my H&R Sport cup kit from them. They didn't have any at show, but gave me an awesome price and said they'd ship it. They were on back order.
A few months went by, and I finally called them. They backtracked the paperwork and saw my order was outstanding. They apologized and sent the kit out that day. I got it within 3 days.
It happens, but at least they are totally willing to work with you when they catch it.

Return the carbon intake from awe. My friend had it for less than a week. He bought it from awe too. Fitment was bad, he had to fabricate his mounting braket so it would sit properly, made real bad high pitch sound (not like pflo but worse). They evetually honored and credited him back his $$$. Stick with bsh true seal or forge twintake if you don't like carbino!

How in the hell can you compare the BSHit intake to the CCB and the twintake?
