El Paso VW Dyno Day @ Western Technical College 3-6-10

So we had a little dyno day in the borderland today. Great lineup of cars and lots of fun.

being on the border has its benefits
Not sure if you call it Revo Stg2+ or Stg3 with an HPFP on an S3, too bad it had a torn DV and only put factory crank figures to the wheels. Owner is looking to do a revision d replacement if its viable and a BSH or 42dd PCV block off with VTA catch can.

---------------------
2009 TSI all stock except for CAI the surprise for the day 212whp on a mustang dyno

--------------------------

supercharged VR6 corrado ran into some detonation issues, didn't blow or anything just had some issues. Suggested a Megasquirt II conversion since an EPROM wasn't doing the trick.

---------------------------------
This 1.8T New Beatle did surprisingly well, stg 1 revo with full stg 2 supporting mods (no stg 2 chip available for his vehicle oddly enough)

---------------------------------------------
my car

---------------------------------------------
Big Turbo Eurodyne GTI 1.8T (most HP of the day)

and some pictures

Should have more pictures and videos to post up as they start to roll in

should be some of my car up in a few (I didn't take any videos or photos, just kinda put together the group deal that got us in at $30 for 3 pulls) ran the 84 GTI open downpipe and got 84whp... but its the meanest 84 hp you've ever heard

Nice dynos, I grew up in EP, I used to love it cause of Juarez but that has gone to hell. Im in TJ now and yea you see all sort of nice cars they dont get in the states. Like the BMW 1 series hatchback, the Focus ST and Seats to name a few.

How complicated is it to import a car from Mexico to the US? Say for e.g. the ED30 GTI? You could simply re-register the car here as a GTI, since that is what it is....?

That seems really high... Do the TSIs really have THAT much hp over the FSI?

you know we all thought that was surprisingly high too but this dyno is typically a heart breaker, my c2 turbo rabbit usually fights to get above 230 on it

well that guy has Mexican plates, I'm pretty sure he lives in Mexico and our dyno day was hosted less than a mile away from the fence... only thing I could suggest is try asking that guy who went crazy at h2o a couple years back
