Proper way to "reset the ecu"
What is the proper way to "reset the ecu".
I heard a few different storys. #1. Clear CEL #2. Unplug battery #3. Unplug battery and unplug ECU What is the propper procedure to reset the ecu for our cars? If I need to unplug the ecu where the hell is it?

A. clear trouble codes. B. reset basic adaptation

Clearing trouble codes with the vag com is the best way.
You can also disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 15 min. The only problem with this is you have no record of what codes and trims your deleting.
